If I am to get anywhere with my investment betting project discipline is will be key.
Having been fairly discipline so far the key will be focus. Things are going good at the moment, the bank is going up at a steady rate, and there have been no major losses. I have managed to stick to betting on only league soccer games for the most part and small dabbles on the Africa Nations Cup, where I felt more then confident on the results.
I have to be honest with myself and confess that I feel I am not taking enough bets. This means my bank is growing at a fairly small rate, if I were to suffer a decent loss it would take weeks to recover and that is where discipline is going to come in big time.
When things are going good and its smooth sailing, it’s very easy to stick to the plan. When you hit losses you start to question yourself, question your systems and sometimes try different and unnecessary bets and systems.
Hopefully this little documented note to myself will help me through the tough times, because just like any investment there will be downs.
A Gem in the Making … NOT!!!!
Tuesday, January 29th, 2008I had commended 4wdl as a gem in the making, but now I have to retract that statement.
Nothing is more important then trust especially on the web, where you do not know who you are dealing with, and 4wdl has lost my trust.
For their selections of 30 January 2008, they are showing a loss of only 0.52 units, and a strike rate of 50%. This is very far from the truth as they have changed their selections. Firstly they have left out two games which they got wrong (Ajax vs. PSV & Hereford vs. Brentford) . They predicted home wins and both results went against them with away team wins. To make matters worse they went and added to predictions which they did not have before; the Belgian Cup win of Kortrijk over Gent @3.3 & the Italian Cup win of Catania over Udinese @2.17. This doctoring of selections after the fact makes you wonder about all their previous results.
I am sad to say, but 4wdl cannot be trusted.
