Advertising disclosure: This independent comparison website helps consumers choose the best available gambling product matching their needs. We offer a high-quality advertising service by featuring only established brands of licensed operators in our reviews. Please note that although we endeavour to provide you with up-to-date information, we do not compare all operators on the market.

Affiliate disclosure

The main focus of bettinginsider.co.uk is to provide you with objective bookmaker reviews and guides. To sponsor our model, we include affiliate links in our content. If you register through such a link, we will receive a small commission at the cost of the bookmaker; this does not affect the terms of your own deal. We do not compromise on the quality of our service and list only licensed operators that have been checked and tested based on our methodology.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller responsible for personal data processed on bettinginsider.co.uk is Lucy Powell, 13 York Road, Exeter, Devon, EX4 6PG, United Kingdom. Questions about this policy, and any request to use the rights described below, can be sent by post to that address. Please include enough detail for us to identify the visit or data your request is about.

What data is processed when you visit

When your browser requests a page, our hosting and content delivery providers receive technical information: your IP address, the browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. This is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure, block abusive traffic and find faults. We do not use it to build profiles.

The site runs no analytics service, no advertising network, no social media widgets and no tracking pixels. Fonts and scripts come from our own domain, so no font, analytics or advertising service receives your data; only the hosting and delivery providers named below process it. Nothing on the site is personalised, and we do not combine visit data with information from any other source about you.

Two things may be stored on your device. Your answer to the cookie notice sits in your browser’s local storage so the notice does not reappear; it holds only “accepted” or “declined”. Cloudflare, our content delivery provider, may also set a short-lived security cookie (__cf_bm, or cf_clearance after a security check) to filter automated attacks; both expire after 30 minutes by default. Clearing the site data in your browser removes both.

Technical request data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR: we need it to deliver a working, secure website, and the data involved is limited to what any web server receives. Storing your cookie choice is strictly necessary to respect that choice, so it does not require separate consent of its own.

How long it is kept

Server and security logs are kept for no longer than 90 days, long enough to investigate faults and deal with abuse, and are then deleted. The cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it. We hold no other records about visitors, so there is nothing else to retain or delete.

Who else receives it

Two providers process request data on our behalf, under written terms that limit its use to providing their service:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen, Germany, hosts the servers the site runs on, in its Falkenstein data centre in Germany. Its privacy policy is at hetzner.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, United States, delivers the pages through its content delivery network and filters automated attacks. Its privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Germany is covered by the UK’s adequacy regulations for the European Economic Area. Transfers to Cloudflare in the United States rely on its certification under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We never sell, rent or trade personal data.

How your data is protected

Every page is served only over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and plain HTTP requests are redirected to it. The site has no user accounts, forms, comment boxes or newsletter, so it collects nothing you type. Access to the servers and to the delivery provider’s settings is limited to the people who run the site and protected by individual credentials. Server software is kept up to date, and the delivery network blocks known attack patterns before they reach the servers.

Some links on this site take you to bookmakers through addresses beginning with /go/. When you follow one, you leave Betting Insider and arrive on the operator’s own website. From that moment the operator’s privacy and cookie policies apply, not this one. We do not pass your name, contact details or browsing history to any bookmaker when you click.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask for access to personal data held about you, to have inaccurate data corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive data in a portable form. Because we hold so little, most requests are quick to answer. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first, so please consider writing to us at the postal address above before you contact the regulator.

Age and changes to this policy

Betting Insider is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly process data about anyone under 18. If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top, and any significant change will be explained here.
